While I'm at it, here's a shot from the game against Wisconsin on Feb. 27... The great John Havlicek will now be forever honored as a legend in Buckeye Basketball. Never will #5 be worn again. John Havlicek was a part of the legendary 1960 Buckeye NCAA Championship team which included Jerry Lucas (#11, obviously) and Bob Knight, was an All-American (1962), Team captain (1962), and led the Buckeyes to a 78-6 record over his last three seasons. He won four NBA Championships in his first four seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics, and eventually drove that total to 8 in his 16 year tenure in Boston. John was the first player ever to score 1,000 points in 16 straight seasons and was a 13 time all-star. Upon his retirement from basketball in 1978, his #17 jersey was immediately retired. John finished his NBA career with 26,395 points. Posted by Hello
