While I'm at it, here's a shot from the game against Wisconsin on Feb. 27... The great John Havlicek will now be forever honored as a legend in Buckeye Basketball. Never will #5 be worn again. John Havlicek was a part of the legendary 1960 Buckeye NCAA Championship team which included Jerry Lucas (#11, obviously) and Bob Knight, was an All-American (1962), Team captain (1962), and led the Buckeyes to a 78-6 record over his last three seasons. He won four NBA Championships in his first four seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics, and eventually drove that total to 8 in his 16 year tenure in Boston. John was the first player ever to score 1,000 points in 16 straight seasons and was a 13 time all-star. Upon his retirement from basketball in 1978, his #17 jersey was immediately retired. John finished his NBA career with 26,395 points.
The Bigman's Rolling Buckeye Blog
Hey, it's the Bigman's Buckeye Blog! It's all about the experience of a proud Buckeye of The Ohio State University. This is much like a journal, but I'm gonna fill it with the exciting details of what life is like down here at The Ohio State University. And just maybe I'll get some other people to post here as well. So enjoy, and GO BUCKS!
